ZVA Creative March DT Blog Hop!

Hello friends! ZVA Creative and our talented Design Team welcome you to our March blog hop! We are very excited to have you join us today and hope you are inspired by all of the beautiful work that we are about to share!

The hop begins at ZVA Creative's Facebook page! Be sure head on over to check it out! You will also find a complete list of all the participating blogs there (in case there is a glitch along the way).
As you know, ZVA offers many beautiful color groupings of pearls, flowers and crystals. If you like what you see along the hop, you can find a list of stores and online retailers that sell Zva HERE.

This month I'm sharing with you an altered mail art, "Love", which I've created to celebrate this Spring. I've used a couple of beautiful ZVA Creative's crystal flourishes to embellish it.

On this mail art, I've also used an acrylic feather by Clear Scraps and flowers by Petaloo. The cute bunny stamp is by Vilda Stamps.

ZVA Creative Supplies Used:
CRW-04CB-122 (Dots crystal - clear), CR-07CA-118 (Flourishes - red crystals)

If you would like to play along with our design team, just follow along the blog path. I am linking to one fo the ZVA designers and that designer is linking to the next and so on. Be prepared to be inspired along the way!

The Blog Hop starts today, March 31st and runs through midnight US Eastern Standard Time on Tuesday, April 1st.

Hidden on FIVE of the blogs along the way is a Zva Creative prize package! Winners will be randomly chosen after the hop is over. All you need to do is leave a comment on one do not need to leave a comment on each and every designer's blog post to qualify. However, the more times you comment along the blog hop path, the more chances will you have to win.
The 5 winners will be announced on Wednesday, April 2nd on Zva Creative's Facebook Page! We will do our best to notify each winner, but it's best if you can pop in to Zva's page on Wednesday to see if you are the winner!

We also thought it would be more fun to add even more chances to win our blog hop prize! To increase your chances of winning:
* Comment to let us know that you posted on our Facebook page about our hop (link to any of the blog hop post)
* Comment to let us know that you "tweeted" about our hop (link to any of the blog hop posts)
* Comment to let us know that you asked your local store to carry Zva Creative products. If they already do, that's fantastic, maybe you can suggest other products that they don't carry.
* Hope on over to Zva's Facebook page and "like" our page or leave a comment there to tell us that you stopped by if you already like us there!

The blog hop begins here at Zva Creative's Facebook Page. Your next stop is Nicole Martel's blog. Enjoy!

Thank you for joining us!
P.S. Mark your calendar to join us again on April 28th for next month's hop.

Remember Altered Tray

Recently, I noticed that some wooden embellishment came in these small wooden trays in their packaging. They are so cute and I've saved one up for today's project.

This altered tray is a gift for a friend. She can use it as a display around her home or add some small photographs in the squares to make it even more interesting! I've used Petaloo gorgeous Botanica blooms to decorate this tray.

You can display these trays on a mini easel or you can also add some chains or ribbon to it and hang it on the wall. If you have some of these trays, try altering them!

Sisters *Paper Doilies Techniques*

This is a layout which I've created to showcase various techniques using paper doilies for BoBunny's blog sometime ago. This layout also features the "Trail Mix" collection by BoBunny.

Here are some close-ups of this layout and keep scrolling down for the techniques on using paper doilies!

BoBunny does carries various sizes of paper doilies and they are so much fun and easy to work with. In the past, I've received some emails asking for more ideas using them besides the usual masking or making them into flowers. Actually there are tons of ways using them. This time, I'm going to share with you all a few simple techniques using them.

The first idea that popped up in my head is altering! You can easily alter these paper doilies! For this first idea, I've used a large doily.

Cut out the inner circle and you will get a ring with beautiful details to layer on your layout.

For the second idea, use the leftover of the inner circle which you've cut out from the earlier paper doily.

Cut out another layer of smaller circle from the inner circle piece and you will get another ring to design your layout with.

For this third idea, I've used a medium paper doily.

Cut out the inner circle but this time, the cut area is slightly different from the earlier paper doily. (Notice the edges of the cut out circle)

Use the inner cut out circle and also cut out another smaller circle from a scrap paper to use as a mask on this paper doily.

Use a sponge and ink to do the masking on the paper doily. This will create a journaling piece for your layout.

For the fourth idea, use what is leftover from the medium paper doilie

Fold pleats on the paper doily ring ad this will create a smaller circle which you can use to layer under tags or create a circular badge with paper doily edges. You could also use this technique to create a paper doily framed circle photograph.

This last idea will be a very simple one. Just use a small paper doilie.

Cut the small paper doily into quarters and then, fold pleats with them. This will create a fan liked folded doily which you can insert among your cluster of flowers. You can ink or color them with mist before adding them to your projects.

Now go and have some paper doilies fun yourself!

This is an old grungy layout featuring Art Anthology and 7 Dots Studio. I've also used some stamps by Vilda Stamps here.

I've done tons and tons of layers using paints and masks. There are very limited paper layering here.

I've used gesso and sorbet to add texture and dimension. Want to know how I did the film strip mark in the sorbet? I've first apply a moderate layer of sorbet on the paper using a palette knife and later used a film strip stamp by Vilda Stamps to stamp on it before it dries.

The chipboard used here are by Dusty Attic.

This camera stamp is one of my favorite by Vilda Stamps.

Something Worth Documented (Misc Me)

Today I would like to share with you all, some pages which I've created in my "Something Worth Documented" misc me album which featured BoBunny. I've kept this album as a very simple and informal journaling book for anything which I think worth documented.

Below are a few pages in the Street Art section of this book.

The best part of using misc me by BoBunny is because there are tons of gorgeous contents which you can get to match your purposes for this binder. They are beautifully designed and you need not add tons of layers to make it look gorgeous.

There is an email sent to me asking how I could work my style with the smaller pocket pages since I love to add dimensions and textures to my work. I have just one advice, you are the artist not the pockets. You can always work beyond the pockets. Don't be afraid of the plastic surfaces.

This is a recent layout which I've created using Swirlydoos, "Salutations" kit. This kit is so gorgeous that makes me want to start creating instantly!

I've also used a large acrylic paper clip by Clear Scraps. I've painted it with some acrylic paint first and later, do some lacing with yarn on its side.

It is very easy to create textures and layers using this kit! There are tons of different element products in it.

Check out these gorgeous textured flowers by Petaloo.

This is a layout which I've created long time ago for a magazine publication. It is a layout featuring BoBunny.

Here are some close-ups.

I've also added an acrylic circle by Clear Scraps as part of the layering in the cluster on the lower left of the layout.

Hope you all like this layout!
